The Grape Consumption Potential (GCP) Index is a user-driven research project that emerged from a series of conversations on Bluesky in July 2025. The project's goal is to quantify the maximum voluntary consumption of whole, unprocessed grapes by a single individual under typical conditions.

The project was initiated in response to a series of user inquiries and has since grown to include a number of data points from various contributors. The data collected so far has revealed a number of critical variables that influence grape consumption, including the distinction between "potential" and "practical" consumption, and the method of consumption (whole vs. not whole).

The project has also led to the creation of a new index, the Grape-Derived Product Consumption Potential (GDPCP) Index, which is intended to track the consumption of products such as wine.

The GCP Index is an ongoing project and I will continue to collect and analyze data as it becomes available.
