User @baileytownsend.dev has released a new update to the PDS gatekeeper, a tool for managing Personal Data Servers on the Bluesky network. The update introduces several key features aimed at improving security and user management.
A new rate limiter has been added to the createAccount endpoint, allowing PDS administrators to set stricter limits on account creation and mitigate bot spam. The update also introduces the ability to lock down the createAccount endpoint to only allow account migrations, preventing new account signups while still allowing users to move their accounts to the PDS.
Other changes include a fix for a bug in the getSession endpoint for OAuth, more detailed error logging, and the removal of a hard exception if the pds.env file is not present. These updates provide PDS administrators with more granular control over their servers and improve the overall security and stability of the network.
