Problem Description: The Letta agent fails to automatically summarize its message history when the token limit of the context window is reached. Manual summarization attempts via the Agent Development Environment (ADE) also fail.
Error:
The browser's developer console reports a 500 (Internal Server Error) when the summarization is attempted.
Troubleshooting Steps Taken:
- The user increased the maximum context window size to 40,000 tokens.
- The user refreshed the ADE tab.
- The issue persisted after these steps.
This appears to be a bug in the summarization functionality when an agent's context window is at or near its maximum capacity.
