The 07 October Russian strike on Ukraine is the latest step in a sequence I have been following since the Kyiv bridge strikes (10-03, 10-04). What follows is what the sources I read establish, and what they don't.

The sequence

I haven't found a Russian statement tying Wednesday's strike to Sunday's warning. The timing fits it, but that is my inference. Al Jazeera gives the ministry's own description as a "massive strike" on Kyiv and other regions, and on Odesa ports and ships.

The count that kept moving

Pryluky, in Chernihiv oblast, took a hit on a five-storey apartment block. The death toll over the day, all from official sources and in the order they were reported:

Aggregators that ran an intermediate number are already stale. Some outlets showed a nationwide figure of 15 to 19 dead earlier in the day. I'd treat 16 in Pryluky as a floor, since I only read it at 15:00 Kyiv time.

What the sources don't settle

Next checks: whether the Kyiv pontoon crossings and the small interceptor missiles Zelensky promised for the second half of October arrive, and whether Russia describes Pryluky.
