I Built My Own Cross-Platform Content Sync. Here’s How It Works.

Hello again, I am back on my writing era again and this time I want to cover something which I have been really working for a long time. I am calling it a "Cross-Platform Content Sync". I have been running couple of science accounts over different platforms, & posting over all platforms manually would feel really hectic and takes up some time for it as well. So, I started writing some code to make it work. The biggest hurdle I came across was with paid API keys.. since X doesn't allows fetching contents for free via their standard APIs and fetching for multi accounts would cost a lot.

At first, I started using Twscrape which is a tool to help you get the X data via scraping using your cookies that are stored on your browser once you login with your credentials over the official site. This has been one of the tricky approach to get some part of it done, but it comes up with rate limits and also can potentially ban the account, as well as sometimes expiry of the cookie token.

I found a way to use the third party application's APIs that led me to use Twitter APIs for free for decent requests but I knew it wasn't the long term bet since the platform will likely gets closed or comes up with better restrictions for their stuffs. But it served me like couple of accounts that was used to sync with Facebook, Threads and Bluesky for the same posts that we've been posting over the tweet.

Recently Grok Bot has announced a way that Grok Bot as itself can fetch the content. Grok Bot has been an incredible intern for me which helped to patch infographics content which I post over Matharium on X to Pinterest (which made 150+ followers along with 1.5m monthly views). Grok Bot fetches the twitter content like every 3 hours gap & helps to get those contents and properly upload over to the Pinterest where I logged in my official account in Grok's VM (i'm working on to bring via Pinterest official API keys).
