day 1666 and the russian circus is still in town, except the clowns keep dying and the tents on fire. generals dropping, lines folding, putin hiding in a bunker with his nightmares. spoiler: the only thing advancing for russia is the number of funerals and conspiracy theories.

generals dropping like flies

russian generals dying used to be news, now its just tuesday. this week its alexander grunis, or maybe grunets, even the obits cant keep up. dude ran the 4th motor rifle brigade, now hes running from the reaper. he was holding it down in bakhmut and other hotspots, now hes trending on obituaries dot ru. russian telegrams already spinning it: "he died heroically," which is vatnik for "he got smoked because our lines are swiss cheese and nobody knows what the fuck is going on."

every time a general gets vaporized, the cope is olympic-level. "he was a great strategist!" sure bro, thats why hes a hashtag now. the only thing more consistent than dead brass is the excuses. theyre running out of medals and running out of guys to pin them on.

lyman: fortress of denial

remember when z bloggers swore lyman was a fortress? turns out its more like a revolving door, and the only thing fortified is the denial. ukrainian forces are probing, pushing, making the z crowd sweat bullets. russian lines are so thin you could floss with them, and every new ukrainian advance sends the vatniks into a panic spiral.

the best part? every time ukraine makes a move, russian state tv goes full blackout or starts talking about world war ii. if you see a sudden spike in "nazis" on russian tv, you know something blew up in lyman. the cope is so thick you need a shovel to get through the news.

assassination attempts: marvel but sad

russian propaganda loves the "we almost got zelensky" story. every few weeks its "fsb foils plot to kill zelensky," "ukrainian traitor caught," "cia lizardmen involved." its like a marvel franchise, except the scripts are written by drunk uncles. the real story? russia is obsessed with the idea that if they just whack the ukrainian president, the whole country will fold. newsflash: ukraines not a monarchy, and zelenskys not hiding in a bunker eating horse pills.

every time they push this narrative, its pure projection. putins the one who cant step outside without a phalanx of food tasters and a geiger counter. the only thing more desperate than these "plots" is the state of russian counterintelligence, who are now arresting each other just to hit their quota. the only thing getting assassinated is their own credibility.

putins bunker fever dream

putins living in a fever dream. hes terrified of drones, terrified of his own generals, terrified of his own people. russian schools are teaching kids how to field-strip an ak instead of math, because nothing says "bright future" like prepping for the next mobilization. meanwhile, ukrainian drones are hitting oil refineries, airfields, logistics hubs deep inside russia. krasnodar, rostov, ekaterinburg - pick a spot, theres a smoking crater and a governor on tv promising "swift retaliation."

the only thing russia retaliates against is their own infrastructure. every time a drone hits, the regime blames "nato saboteurs," but the real saboteurs are the ones running the ministry of defense. the only thing putin trusts is the bunker door.

the only thing russia is winning is the race to see who can flee the country fastest.

home front: fumes and vodka

russian society is running on fumes and vodka. the only thing more common than empty store shelves is empty promises. mobilization is officially "voluntary," which means "volunteer or well draft your cat." every new wave of conscripts gets sent to the front with a rusty ak and a pep talk about "defending the motherland," then comes back in a box or not at all.

the regimes answer? more propaganda, more parades, more "well fight until 2030!" sure, if you can find anyone left to draft by then. the only thing russia is exporting is guys sprinting away from it with a backpack. the russian dream is a lada that starts, a neighbor poorer than you, and a tv that swears the potato shortage is a western psyop.

economy: meme coin energy

the economy is in freefall. sanctions didnt nuke russia overnight, but they turned "import substitution" into a national meme. "made in russia" is now a warning label, not a selling point. wildberries warehouses getting torched by drones, gas shortages in ekaterinburg, ust-luga burning, and the ruble doing its best impression of a meme coin.

the regimes answer? blame the west, blame ukraine, blame the weather, blame anyone except the guys actually running the show. the only thing they cant blame is themselves, because that would require a mirror and a shred of honesty. every russian victory gets announced from a town 600 km from the town they actually lost. those maps are doing serious cardio.

war crimes and the laundromat

the war crimes keep piling up. russian state tv launders the atrocities, but the stains keep showing up in un reports. civilian deaths in dnipro, nikopol, and everywhere else the russian army can reach with a missile. every time the regime tries to spin it, the receipts are already online.

the only thing more transparent than their lies is the fact that nobody outside russia buys them anymore. even their own people are starting to notice the smell, and its not just the trenches. the regime robs them blind and they say thank you, i just screenshot it and post.

the circus rolls on

so whats the takeaway? russia is stuck in a loop: generals dying, lines collapsing, propaganda spinning, putin hiding, and the country eating itself from the inside out. ukraines not just holding, theyre pushing, adapting, and making every russian "victory" look like a rerun of last years failures.

the regimes biggest fear isnt nato or zelensky or even the next drone strike, its their own people waking up and realizing the emperors got no clothes, no plan, and no way out. day 1666, and the only thing russias advancing is the art of losing with style. the generals are dead, the fronts on fire, and putins still hiding from shadows. the circus rolls on, but the tents looking real empty.

imagine being so free that the bravest thing you do all year is repost the state and pray nobody asks where your son went.
