Day 1684 and the vibes in Russia are straight-up apocalyptic sitcom.

day 1684 and russia’s running a live-action apocalypse sitcom. ukraine’s pushing forward, solovyov’s veins are about to burst on tv, there’s an actual plague, the economy’s bleeding out, and the defense industry just got smoked again. kremlin tv’s still screaming “victory” while the set’s on fire and the audience is halfway out the door.

front line fantasy vs drone reality

the “second army of the world” keeps getting pantsed by a bunch of dudes with drones and a grudge. ukraine’s moving forward, again, and the only thing faster than the retreat is the spin machine. every week it’s “tactical regrouping,” which is vatnik for “we lost another village.” z-bloggers post shaky videos from kupyansk-vuzlovyi, but half the time they’re just loitering at a train station like they’re waiting for the last bus out.

even their own channels can’t keep the cope straight. first it’s “we control half the town,” then “we were just passing through,” then “actually, that was last year’s footage, ignore the snow.” the only thing more flexible than the front line is their definition of victory.

meanwhile, ukraine’s not just holding the line, they’re making it a national sport to torch russian logistics. iskander launchers in bryansk, factories in kaluga, oil refineries in saratov and perm, warehouses in ozon, you name it. russian air defense is about as useful as a screen door on a submarine. every drone that gets through is another “import substitution” project going up in smoke. russia’s main domestic product now is excuses and burnt-out factories.

logistics on fire, propaganda on loop

ukrainian “middle strike” drones are basically a recurring nightmare for russian logistics. six warehouses in a week, plants torched, and the media’s pretending it’s just “the situation,” not “the war.” even the word “war” is too spicy for the average vatnik. but you can’t gaslight a fire. when the sky lights up and the local ozon warehouse is a crater, it’s hard to pretend everything’s fine.

skabeyeva, queen of kremlin tv, is now whining that russian troops are “attacking in reverse.” not a typo, just the new doctrine: retreat so hard you loop back to victory. the more desperate it gets, the louder the propaganda. solovyov’s melting down on live tv, screaming about nato, the west, “satanists,” and whatever else he can blame for the fact that the russian army keeps getting clowned by guys with go-pros and a sense of humor.

you can’t win a war with denial and reruns, but damn if they aren’t trying.

the panic’s leaking through the bluster. they know the war’s coming home, and so does the audience.

plague, but make it medieval

not a metaphor, an actual plague outbreak. russia’s so busy looting the country and bombing neighbors, they forgot to keep the black death in the history books. now there’s quarantine zones popping up like it’s 1720. the only thing spreading faster than the disease is the government’s denial. “everything is under control,” they say, while the ministry of health googles “how to treat plague.” maybe next week they’ll blame ukraine for inventing rats.

the regime’s too busy playing whack-a-mole with medieval diseases to notice the country’s falling apart. the only thing more contagious than the plague is the state’s urge to lie about it.

economy: titanic, but with less hope

russia’s economy is officially in the red, and not the “red army” kind. budget holes, shrinking reserves, a ruble worth less than a pack of gum. sanctions didn’t collapse the place overnight, but now “made in russia” is a punchline and “import substitution” is a meme. every time they try to spin it, the numbers get worse.

the only thing russia exports reliably now is people running away and propaganda nobody buys outside telegram. the regime’s selling greatness while the country’s circling the drain.

defense industry: museum pieces and miracle math

the so-called pride of russia, the defense industry, is getting hammered. ukrainian strikes keep hitting plants, depots, launchers. the “invincible” iskanders are now just expensive scrap metal. every factory that burns adds another year to the timeline for russia to replace its losses.

the regime can’t admit it, so they shuffle the numbers, blame “saboteurs,” and hope nobody notices their miracle weapons are now museum pieces. the only thing they’re building faster than excuses is unemployment.

distraction, denial, and the circus

the kremlin’s playbook is stuck on repeat: distract, deflect, double down on the circus. front collapses? scream about nato. economy tanks? blame “external enemies.” plague breaks out? call it fake news. the only thing changing is how many russians are starting to see through it.

even the diehards are getting tired. they don’t call it a war, but they know what it is. they’re scared, they want out, and the regime’s running out of ways to keep them quiet. the propaganda machine’s running on fumes, and the audience is getting wise.

taxman cometh for the shills

just to spice it up, even the regime’s favorite bloggers are getting dragged in tax cases in spain. shariy and bondarenko, kremlin’s favorite expats, now have spanish courts on their ass. you can run from the truth, but you can’t hide from the tax man. turns out, shilling for a dictatorship doesn’t pay off when the tax office comes knocking.

russia’s special operation: how not to run a country

so what’s left? russia’s stuck in a loop: losing ground, losing money, losing its mind on tv, and now losing to literal plague. the only thing the regime can still manufacture is denial. ukraine’s not just holding on, they’re pushing forward, torching logistics, making the kremlin sweat bullets.

every week, the “special operation” looks more like a special episode of “how not to run a country.” if you’re still buying the kremlin’s line about “everything under control,” i’ve got a bridge in crimea to sell you. the only thing russia’s winning is the race to the bottom, and even there, they’re running out of gas.

russian victory is always just one more retreat away.
