Day 1668 and the Kremlin’s still stuck in the world’s longest speedrun

kremlin speedrun day 1668, still stacking disasters like its a steam achievement. putin’s getting squeezed by the us, gas prices are breaking records (not the good kind), three more russian planes just got smoked, and now russian cities are tasting their own missile sauce. if you’re a vatnik, this is where you post memes about “standing up to nato” while your lada’s running on hope and your local gas station’s selling vibes instead of fuel.

sanctions siege: the stalingrad larp

kremlin tv wants you to think it’s 1941 and they’re defending stalingrad, but the only thing under siege is putin’s yacht fund. the west’s pressure is hitting where it hurts: tech, cash, and the ability to fake normalcy on state tv. russian missiles still need western chips because “import substitution” is just code for “we can’t make shit that works.” every time a kinzhal gets shot down and the wreckage is full of american parts, you can hear soviet engineers facepalming from the grave.

but yeah, keep telling me about “technological sovereignty” while you’re soldering a missile together with parts from aliexpress and radioshack. the regime’s big plan is to ban iphones and hope nobody notices the entire military runs on western tech. spoiler: everyone noticed.

the only thing more reliable than russian propaganda is the ukrainian knack for making expensive russian hardware go boom.

gas crisis: running on fumes and lies

the russian economy is cosplaying a sinking ship. gas prices are through the roof everywhere, not just moscow. ai-95? missing from half the pumps in major cities. ai-92? not much better. the only thing more scarce than gasoline is a straight answer from the regime about why this is happening.

it’s not “evil western sabotage,” it’s years of corruption, sanctions, and the genius move to bomb your own export infrastructure while pretending you’re an energy superpower. businesses are closing, truck fleets are getting mothballed, and the only growth industry left is making excuses on state tv.

but hey, you can still vote in a three-day “election” where the ballot box comes to your house whether you want it or not. democracy, russian style: vote early, vote often, and don’t ask why your neighbor’s dog is on the voter list.

air force: subscription service for target practice

three planes and a helicopter down in one day, the russian air force is basically a monthly delivery of scrap metal for ukraine. every time shoigu says “we control the skies,” another mi-8 gets turned into a barbecue. z bloggers post a blurry video, scream “fake news,” then quietly delete yesterday’s victory post.

it’s a cycle: deny, deflect, distract, declare victory, repeat. the only thing more consistent than russian propaganda is ukraine’s ability to make russian hardware explode. the “second army of the world” is now mostly famous for losing to a country they said would fold in three days.

meanwhile, kremlin maps are doing more cardio than the troops, announcing victories from towns 600 km away from where they actually lost. the front is “stable” if you ignore all the russian positions getting steamrolled.

home front: missiles inbound, panic outbound

remember when the kremlin said “the war will never touch us”? now it’s oil refineries in tatarstan, terminals in krasnodar, and power substations getting lit up like new year’s eve. the regime’s response? pretend nothing happened, then quietly jack up gas prices and blame “logistics.”

average russians are standing in line for petrol, wondering why “special military operation” now means “special rationing operation.” propaganda says it’s all under control, but when half the country can’t fill their tank and the other half is watching ukrainian drones overhead, the only thing under control is the panic.

inside russia, it’s not just the economy cracking. restaurants closing, layoffs everywhere, and the only thing more rigged than the elections is the price of bread. putin’s answer? more repression, more fake votes, more “everything is fine” speeches from a comically long table. the only people buying the act are the ones paid to, and even they’re sweating.

ukraine: cornfields vs kremlin powerpoints

on the front lines, ukraine’s not just holding out, they’re pushing back. operation “vivaldi” near lyman? ukrainian brigades are taking ground, smashing russian units, and liberating villages while the kremlin’s still picking which general to blame this week.

every time the z crowd claims “the front is stable,” another batch of conscripts gets a one-way ticket to the world’s worst camping trip. turns out, cornfields and tractors are deadlier than kremlin powerpoints. the “second army of the world” is now a punchline, not a threat.

but don’t forget the human cost. while the regime plays empire, real people are dying. russian strikes on ukraine keep killing civilians, torching warehouses, and wrecking infrastructure. every time a missile lands, the kremlin calls it “precision,” but the only thing precise is the body count.

the regime exports misery because it can’t even keep its own lights on.

endgame: sandcastles and self-sabotage

the kremlin wants you to believe they’re besieged heroes, fighting off the evil west while bravely “defending” russia. in reality, they’re boxed in, bleeding money, losing hardware, and running out of both gas and good news. the only thing the regime’s winning is the gold medal in self-sabotage.

sanctions aren’t going away, the tech gap is getting wider, and the only thing growing faster than the price of petrol is the list of russian cities getting hit by their own boomerang war. the answer is always more repression, more lies, more magical thinking. but you can’t propaganda your way out of a fuel crisis, and you can’t bomb your way to prosperity.

bottom line: putin’s castle is looking more like a sandcastle every day. the us and allies are squeezing, ukraine’s hitting back harder, and the russian economy is eating itself alive. z bloggers are running out of cope, propaganda’s running on fumes, and the only thing left to export is excuses. welcome to day 1668, same circus, even fewer clowns left to run it.

russian victory parade this year is just a guy with a jerry can and a map of places he can’t drive to.
