russian propaganda meltdown of the week: “they lied to us, but its fine, but also shut up, but also everyone is a traitor.” the z-clowns are speedrunning denial so fast theyre gonna lap themselves. “банально врали вплоть до верховного” is the new catchphrase, like they just discovered gravity. if this is news to you, congrats, you either woke up from a coma or you mainline russian state tv for breakfast.

the lyman panic and the five stages of vatnik grief

ukrainian army rolls up on lyman, and suddenly the z-telegram zoo is a live-action panic attack. these are the same guys who spent months chanting “ukraine is finished, nato is tired, russia is inevitable.” now theyre stuck in denial and blame, never making it past stage two.

for months, russian channels pumped out the classics: “front is stable, enemy losses catastrophic, our boys are heroes, victory is next week.” then, outta nowhere (read: after ignoring reality for months), the afu’s 3rd army corps drops receipts: photos and videos of russian pows, dozens at a time, looking like they just realized the “special operation” is not a beach holiday. over 250 captured in one op, and thats just what made it on camera. the ministry of defense? not a peep, too busy photoshopping parade tanks and pretending the front line is still 2022.

meanwhile, z-bloggers are eating each other alive. “pora domoy” goes full tinfoil, telling followers to “filter information” and calling anyone reporting bad news a traitor or enemy agent. their logic: if you dont live in a trench, shut up about the war. rich coming from guys who think a front line is a vodka brand. suddenly, nobody’s talking about gas shortages, marketplace scams, or the last election that was faker than a russian luxury car.

historical flashbacks and the regrouping olympics

oleg tsaryov, professional excuse machine, reminds everyone this is not the kremlins first gaslight rodeo. remember autumn 2022? russian troops got booted out of balakliya and izyum, and the official line was “regrouping.” sure, and my lada is a tesla. fast forward to august 2024, ukrainian forces roll into kursk region, and next day gerasimov is on tv saying “enemy advance stopped.” five days later, the acting governor is still explaining why “regrouping” looks a lot like running away.

this is the cycle:

the only thing more predictable than the propaganda is how fast it falls apart when reality shows up with a camera and a bunch of pows. the regimes biggest fear isnt nato, its their own people realizing the “second army of the world” is just a meme with nukes and a lot of stolen washing machines.

operation vivaldi: receipts > regrouping

lets talk about operation “vivaldi” because even the names are getting funnier. afu’s 3rd army corps announced it publicly on september 15, but theyd been grinding since may. all summer, russian tv was showing “everything is calm” and “the enemy is exhausted,” while ukrainian troops were chewing up russian positions, step by step. by september 28, theyd finished the third stage: 51 square kilometers retaken in that phase, 176 since the start. thats not a regrouping, thats a rout. dont expect the ministry of defense to update their maps, theyre still stuck in 2022.

the panic is real. the propaganda machine is running out of spin. when even the hardcore z-channels start admitting “we were lied to, all the way up to the top,” you know the wheels are coming off. but instead of facing reality, they double down on the cope: “dont trust anyone, especially not those who live outside russia.” “the enemy is waging an information war.” “we must not give the truth about the front to the enemy.” translation: if you see something that doesnt fit the script, shut up and look away.

the only thing russia exports better than gas is pure, uncut cope.

the regime’s national sport: excuse manufacturing

its not just about military losses. its the whole system of lies that props up the regime. every time the front collapses, every time another batch of conscripts ends up in a ukrainian pow camp, every time “regrouping” turns into a stampede, the gap between propaganda and reality gets wider. the only way to keep the circus going is to scream “traitor” at anyone who points it out.

the kremlins biggest export isnt oil or gas, its excuses. excuses for why the army is always “regrouping,” why the economy is always “adapting,” why the only thing that grows is the number of graves and the size of the censorship list. z-bloggers are just the middlemen, selling the same old snake oil with new labels. but even theyre starting to choke on it.

the funniest part? the regimes own bootlickers are now admitting what everyone else has known for years: the top lies, the middle lies, the bottom lies, and the only thing thats real is the body count. “банально врали вплоть до верховного” isnt a revelation, its the national motto. the only surprise is that anyones surprised.

rinse, repeat, and watch the circus burn

so here we are: another ukrainian offensive, another round of russian panic, another pile of propaganda in flames. the cycle will repeat. the regime will find new words for “retreat,” new scapegoats to blame, new filters to slap on the news. but the receipts keep piling up, and the only thing the kremlin cant censor is the smell.

if youre still buying the “everything is under control” line, ive got a bridge in crimea to sell you. the rest of us will be over here, watching the z-bloggers eat each other alive, collecting their cope like pokémon cards, and waiting for the next episode of “how not to run a war.” spoiler: it always ends the same way, with the clowns blaming each other, the regime pretending nothing happened, and the rest of the world laughing at the worlds most predictable circus.

and if youre wondering what comes next, just wait. the next time the afu moves, the same script will play out: denial, distraction, declarations of victory, and then, when the receipts drop, a fresh round of “we were lied to, all the way up to the top.” rinse and repeat. the only thing that changes is the number of excuses and the size of the graveyard.

meanwhile, the regime will keep robbing its own people, the propaganda will keep spinning, and the z-bloggers will keep screaming into the void. but reality doesnt care about their scripts. it just keeps marching forward, one liberated town at a time. and every time it does, the mask slips a little more, and the world gets another reminder that the only thing russia exports better than gas is pure, uncut cope.

bonus cope of the week: “if you dont live in a trench, you dont get to talk about the war.” cool, so i guess the entire kremlin is disqualified.
