Day 1668 and Putin’s still playing Risk with real people, except now

putin still thinks hes napoleon, but the only thing hes conquering is new lows. day 1668 and the kremlin is surrounded by more problems than a lada in january, and the only siege is the one inside his own head. us sanctions, ukraine getting new toys, and another wave of officials googling “how to move cash to dubai” – just another tuesday in vatnikland. meanwhile, the only thing breaking records in russia is the price of gas, and not the kind you can use to drive away from this mess. three more russian aircraft got turned into scrap, ukraine’s sending missiles across the border like its amazon prime, and the clowns on kremlin tv are working overtime to convince babushkas that nato is hiding under the bed.

the “siege” nobody’s buying

russian propaganda loves to act like the us is outside moscow with a battering ram, but the reality is way more embarrassing. the west isn’t even sweating, just tightening the screws every time putin tries to flex. new sanctions, more export bans, another oligarch’s yacht gets repo’d, and the regime’s response is to cry about “russophobia” and threaten nuclear war for the hundredth time this year. nobody’s buying it except the same babushkas who think nato is hiding in their pantry.

the real siege is inside russia, where the economy’s in freefall and the only thing growing is the list of banned imports and the price of everything else. the kremlin keeps promising “import substitution” but all they’ve substituted is hope with cope. every time the regime yells about western plots, the ruble drops another point and another factory closes.

the only thing russia’s besieged by is its own bullshit and a mountain of unpaid bills.

gas crisis: from energy superpower to empty pumps

remember when russia was the “energy superpower” and europe was supposed to freeze without their oil? fast forward to now, and russians can’t even fill up their own tanks. ai-95 is missing from over half the gas stations in big cities, ai-92 is vanishing too, and the price per liter is hitting new highs every week. import substitution? more like import extinction.

the regime blames “speculators” and “logistics,” but the truth is simple: you can’t bomb your neighbors, get sanctioned by half the planet, and expect the pumps to magically refill themselves. businesses are folding, truckers are parking their rigs, and the only thing moving is the line at the unemployment office. but hey, at least the propaganda channels are still running on fumes.

ukraine handing out l’s, kremlin handing out excuses

ukraine’s not just surviving, they’re handing out l’s left and right. operation “vivaldi” near lyman? ukrainian brigades are pushing north, smashing russian positions, and liberating villages while the z bloggers are busy arguing over whose fault it is this time. every time the kremlin declares a “strategic regrouping,” you know another town just got un-occupied.

about those three aircraft and a helicopter – yeah, they’re gone. ukraine’s air defense and drone strikes are making the russian air force look like a budget airline with a 0-star safety rating. the only thing flying reliably in russia these days is the excuses.

fireworks in the “rear”: russia gets a taste

ukrainian missiles and drones are hitting oil refineries, depots, and even airfields deep inside russia. tatarstan, krasnodar, ufa – nobody’s safe, not even the “rear.” every time a refinery goes up in smoke, the kremlin blames “terrorists” and “nato agents,” but the receipts are all over satellite images and telegram. the regime can’t protect its own backyard, and the only thing they can shoot down reliably is their own narrative.

russians are getting a taste of what they’ve been dishing out for years, and suddenly “special military operation” doesn’t sound so special when the explosions are closer to home. the regime’s response is to double down on denial, but the smoke signals are visible from space.

home front: fake elections, real collapse

things on the home front are getting grim. businesses are shutting down, restaurants are closing, and transport companies are laying off drivers by the dozen. the regime’s answer? more mobilization drills, more fake elections, and more promises that “everything is under control.” the latest round of voting is a joke – three days of ballot stuffing, forced “home voting,” and activists cold-calling people to make sure they tick the right box.

even the communist party is complaining about the fraud, and you know it’s bad when the guys who invented rigged elections are calling it out. but don’t worry, the kremlin says it’s all “democratic,” just like their gdp numbers and casualty reports.

casualties and war crimes: laundering blood

russian strikes on ukraine keep killing civilians, torching warehouses, and wrecking infrastructure. every day there’s another report: two dead here, three wounded there, factories burning, homes smashed. the regime calls it “precision strikes,” but the only thing precise is their ability to hit anything except a military target.

ukraine’s air defense is getting better, shooting down more drones and missiles every week, but the cost is still paid in blood and rubble. the kremlin launders these war crimes through state tv, but the stains keep showing up in un reports and on the ground.

scavenger hunt army: running on scraps and cope

the russian military is running out of everything except excuses. they’re back to using american chips in their “hypersonic” missiles because their own tech is trash. every time they brag about “import substitution,” you know someone’s soldering a chinese knockoff into a soviet-era circuit board and praying it doesn’t explode on launch.

the “second army of the world” is now the world’s biggest scavenger hunt for spare parts. sanctions didn’t collapse the economy overnight, but they turned “made in russia” into a warning label and “high-tech” into a punchline.

propaganda meltdown: exporting cope, importing denial

the propaganda machine is working overtime to spin all this. every setback is a “strategic pause,” every explosion in russia is “sabotage,” and every ukrainian advance is “irrelevant.” z bloggers are melting down, fighting each other, and blaming everyone from shoigu to the weather. the regime’s biggest export isn’t oil or gas anymore, it’s cope.

they promise to take kyiv by friday and end up losing another cornfield by monday. the russian dream is now a lada that starts and a neighbor who’s even poorer. the only thing more inflated than their casualty numbers is their sense of control.

ukraine rising, russia draining

meanwhile, ukraine’s tech sector is booming, the army’s getting smarter, and the world keeps sending more support. every time russia tries to escalate, they just dig the hole deeper. nuclear blackmail? yawn. fake referendums? nobody cares. sanctions evasion? good luck, the west is closing loopholes faster than the kremlin can invent new ones.

the real brain drain is happening in russia, where anyone with a clue is either leaving or dreaming of leaving. the regime robs them blind and they say thank you, but the receipts are piling up and the bill’s coming due.

the bunker, the lies, and the circus

so here we are, day 1668. putin’s “siege” is just him trapped in a bunker of his own making, surrounded by yes-men and empty vodka bottles. the economy’s tanking, the army’s bleeding, and the only thing holding up the regime is a mountain of lies and a shrinking pile of oil money.

ukraine’s still standing, still fighting, and still making the kremlin look like amateurs. the world’s not besieging russia, russia’s just finally running out of places to hide from its own failures.

in the end, all the propaganda in the world can’t fill up an empty gas tank, rebuild a burned-out refinery, or bring back the pilots who won’t be coming home. the regime can spin, threaten, and distract all they want, but reality’s got a way of breaking through. and when it does, no amount of cope will save them. the only thing left for the rest of us is to grab some popcorn, screenshot the meltdown, and watch the circus burn.

russian victory is always just one more mass grave and a new price hike away.
