Let’s talk about the naked emperor in the room.

putin’s whole regime is like that scene where everyone has to clap for the naked emperor or get tossed out the window, except now even the clappers are eyeing the fire escape. the kremlin’s own crew is finally catching on that the magic trick stopped working, and the only thing holding up the show is a bunch of terrified yes-men who know the ship’s sinking but are too scared to say it out loud.

the illusion of control is busted

for years, putin’s best export wasnt oil or gas, it was the vibe that russia was stable and totally under control. he’d stand there, dead-eyed, and sell the world on “everything’s fine, the people love me, the elites are loyal, the war is popular.” and for a while, enough folks bought it. western leaders, investors, even some russians who just wanted to believe someone was driving the bus.

now the cracks are everywhere. the only people still pretending not to see them are the ones who’d get defenestrated for saying the quiet part out loud. the regime’s own insiders are watching the titanic in slow motion, and the only thing left is to figure out who gets to the lifeboats first.

fsb vs technocrats: clown fight in the kremlin

inside the kremlin, it’s a knife fight between the fsb goons and the so-called technocrats. the fsb’s answer to every problem is more censorship, more arrests, more blackout switches. if the country’s on fire, just turn off the news and hope nobody notices the smoke.

the technocrats, the guys who actually have to make the economy and the internet work, are sweating bullets. they know you cant just unplug reality. they see the grumbling online, the memes, the leaks, the fact that even the most zombified vatniks are starting to ask why their sons keep coming home in boxes while the regime’s kids are posting from dubai.

the war, the economy, and the panic

putin’s grip is slipping everywhere. the war is a meat grinder, the economy is a patchwork of sanctions loopholes and smuggled microwaves, and the only thing growing faster than the budget deficit is the graveyard. the next duma elections are coming up, and the regime is so nervous you can smell the fear through the tv.

every week, the situation gets worse. the budget for next year is pure fantasy, and everyone knows another round of mobilization is coming. officially “voluntary,” unofficially “volunteer or else.” nobody wants to break the news to the boss, so they just keep passing the buck and hoping someone else gets purged first.

the only thing growing faster than the budget deficit is the graveyard

even the elites are bailing

the real kicker? even the elites dont believe in the project anymore. the whole point of being in putin’s inner circle was supposed to be safety, stability, and a cut of the loot. now it’s just a front-row seat to the collapse. the smart ones are already moving their money, their families, and their instagram accounts out of russia.

the rest are stuck playing musical chairs, hoping the music doesnt stop while they’re still in moscow. the only thing they’re loyal to is their own survival. loyalty to the boss? that’s for suckers who dont have a plane ticket.

propaganda on fumes, reality breaking through

putin’s still out here trying to sell the same old story: “everything’s under control. the west is weak. russia is strong. the people are united.” but nobody’s buying it, not even his own team. the propaganda machine is running on fumes. every time they try to spin a win, reality comes crashing through the wall like kool-aid man.

the regime is so obsessed with controlling the narrative they forgot to control the actual country. they’re laundering war crimes through state tv, but the stains keep showing up in un reports. they brag about “import substitution,” but the only thing they’ve substituted is hope with cope. the “second army of the world” is now just a punchline, and the only thing they’re denazifying is their own population’s will to live.

the punchline nobody wants to say

so yeah, the king is naked. and the only people still pretending he’s wearing clothes are the ones who know they’ll get shot if they laugh. but even they’re running out of patience. the kremlin is eating itself, the technocrats are praying for a soft landing, and the fsb is just looking for new ways to turn off the lights.

putin’s biggest fear isnt nato or ukraine or even navalny’s ghost — it’s that one day, someone in his own office will finally say out loud what everyone’s been thinking: “boss, nobody believes you anymore.”

when that happens, it’s game over. not with a bang, but with a whimper and a bunch of guys in bad suits fighting over the last working elevator out of the building. the only thing left will be the punchline: the king was naked the whole time, and the only people surprised are the ones who spent twenty years pretending not to look.
