Day 1683 and Putin’s still speedrunning the humiliation percent category.

putin been speedrunning humiliation so long hes about to lap himself. 1683 days in and the only thing getting denazified is the last shred of dignity in the russian economy. lets take a tour: ukraine keeps advancing, novomoskovsk keeps exploding, the baltic sea is a floating parking lot, and the kremlin is still running the “get a job, get a rifle” scam. spoiler, the only parade coming is a line of tankers stuck in the gulf of finland.

shame parade: reality is for losers

kremlin tv clowns promise a new “strategic victory” every week, but the only thing moving forward is the price of bread and the average age of conscripts. putin’s regime is so allergic to reality theyre basically living in a vr headset made of their own propaganda. ukraine keeps pushing the line the wrong way for them, and every time z bloggers scream “counteroffensive failed,” the next day theres another video of a russian trench getting turned into a barbecue pit.

the kremlin’s answer? more “meat assaults,” more mobilization, more lies. theyre out of wagner convicts, so now its anyone with a pulse and a passport. if your military strategy is “throw bodies at the problem,” congrats, you just invented the russian mod of lemmings.

the only thing advancing is the casualty count and the price of a loaf of bread.

novomoskovsk: boomtown russia

meanwhile, back in the motherland, novomoskovsk just got a new crater. russian officials play their favorite game: deny, deflect, distract. first its “nothing happened,” then “planned demolition,” then “ukrainian terrorists,” and finally “please donate to our gofundme for repairs.”

this is not a one-off. russian infrastructure gets hit so often the ministry of emergency situations should be running a loyalty program. oil depots, airfields, ammo dumps—if it burns, its probably already on fire. the regime’s response? more censorship, more arrests, more “everything is under control.” sure, if by control you mean “nobody’s allowed to talk about how bad it is.”

the only thing getting rebuilt in russia is the excuse generator.

baltic bottleneck: oil superpower stuck in traffic

lets talk about the baltic sea traffic jam. nothing says “global superpower” like 150 ships stuck in a 60-kilometer queue waiting to unload oil nobody wants. russia tried to dodge black sea risks, ended up with a floating parking lot. tankers, bulk carriers, just chilling, burning fuel, waiting for some customs guy to stamp their paperwork.

this is what a “sanctions-proof economy” looks like: oil you cant sell, ships you cant move, and a government still pretending everything’s fine. propaganda says its all part of the plan, but the only plan is “hope the west gets bored.” meanwhile, ports are backed up, insurance costs are through the roof, and the only thing moving fast is the black market for fake shipping docs.

gas station brawls: welcome to putin’s paradise

want a taste of everyday life? check the latest viral from a gazprom station in kostroma. guy standing in line on foot, clutching a bag, waiting for five liters of gas while drivers argue over who gets to fill up next. price? 100 rubles a liter if you’re lucky. full tank? 6000 rubles, comrade. welcome to the new normal, where getting gas is a contact sport.

this is what happens when your economy is built on hydrocarbons and suddenly nobody wants to buy them. regime promised “import substitution” and “technological sovereignty.” what they delivered is rationing, shortages, and lines that would make a soviet babushka nostalgic. but dont worry, state tv says its all a western plot, and if you complain, you’re a foreign agent.

the only thing more inflated than the ruble is the regime’s ego.

mobilization by scam: job ad to body bag

now for my favorite kremlin party trick: mobilization by bait-and-switch. meet valery marcin, 59, krasnodar krai. wanted a job in annexed crimea, got a one-way ticket to the front. ad said “shift work,” recruiter said “good pay,” fine print said “congrats, you’re cannon fodder now.”

this is not a bug, its a feature. regime’s out of volunteers, so now theyre tricking desperate job seekers into signing “contracts” that turn out to be military enlistment forms. one day you’re looking for work, next you’re in a trench outside avdiivka wondering how the hell you got there. try to back out? good luck. the only exit is feet first.

hostage diplomacy: civilians as bargaining chips

while all this is going on, russia’s still playing games with civilian lives. in oleshky, ukraine tried to organize a humanitarian evacuation. russia’s answer? nyet. not unless they control the process, not unless they pick who leaves. even when ukraine offered the red cross as a neutral party, russia slammed the door. for the kremlin, civilians aren’t people, theyre bargaining chips.

same playbook since day one: create a crisis, then demand concessions to “solve” it. humanitarian corridors that lead to filtration camps, “evacuations” that end in deportation, aid that gets looted or blocked. the only consistent policy is making sure nobody escapes the mess they made.

for the regime, civilians are just another asset to trade.

big picture: regime running on fumes and cope

so whats the common thread? simple: the regime’s out of ideas, out of options, running on pure cope. the war’s a disaster, the economy’s a punchline, and the only thing they can still export is propaganda. every new setback gets spun as a victory, every failure gets blamed on nato, every russian who complains gets a visit from the fsb.

propaganda machine is working overtime but the cracks are showing. when your “second army of the world” cant hold a trench, your oil exports are stuck in a traffic jam, your citizens are fighting over gas and getting tricked into dying for a dictator’s ego trip—maybe, just maybe, you’re not winning.

but dont expect the regime to admit it. theyll keep promising victory, keep faking numbers, keep sending more valerys to the front. because the alternative—facing the truth—would mean admitting that 1683 days of blood, lies, and theft bought them nothing but shame.

receipts, cope, and the road ahead

lets run the receipts one more time for the vatniks in the back:

regime’s answer? more repression, more propaganda, more magical thinking. theyll keep telling russians everything’s fine, the west is collapsing, victory is just around the corner. meanwhile, the only thing around the corner is another funeral, another explosion, another traffic jam.

the circus isnt leaving town

waiting for the kremlin to wake up and smell the burning oil depot? dont hold your breath. this circus isnt packing up. the clowns are still running the show, the audience is still forced to clap, and the only thing changing is the body count.

but hey, at least the propaganda’s free. just dont ask what it costs.
