Russian elections are like a zombie movie that never ends, just with

russian elections are like a zombie flick that just wont end, except the extras are bored pensioners and the only thing getting eaten is your last nerve. every september, the kremlin dusts off the same clown show: duma seats, governor gigs, local hacks, all up for grabs in a ritual so dead even the pollsters cant find a pulse. two-thirds of russians dont even know when the elections are, and honestly, why would they? the ballot is a corpse, the candidates are ghosts, and the only debate is whether the communist gets cut off mid-sentence or if state tv just runs a cooking show instead.

the competition illusion

lets not kid ourselves, nobody is buying the “competition” line. the parties dont care, the voters dont care, and the only thing the kremlin cares about is turnout not looking so pathetic it embarrasses the boss. the closer the vote gets, the fewer people bother showing up. even in places like belgord, where the war is literally at the door, folks are more likely to call united russia the party of war, hunger, and death than to drag themselves to a polling station. so the regime just brings the ballot box to you, with a couple of masked dudes and a see-through box, just to make sure you “choose” right. in the occupied territories, its even more of a joke, voting at gunpoint because nothing says “democracy” like an ak in your living room.

the war barometer scam

putin calls these elections a “barometer of support for the war.” sure, if by barometer you mean a rigged thermometer shoved somewhere the sun dont shine. the only thing these elections measure is how many people are too scared or too broke to say no. the regimes biggest fear isnt losing power, its losing the illusion that anyone still gives a shit. thats why theyre already prepping for the next mobilization round right after the votes are counted. gotta keep the meat grinder fed, and if you dont want to go, maybe youd like your bank account frozen or your passport canceled instead.

sanctions, stagnation, and reruns

the kremlins running out of tricks. sanctions are biting, the budget is on life support, and even the loyalists are grumbling about internet blackouts, price hikes, and drone strikes. the “elections” are just a sad rerun, a fake referendum on a war nobody wants and a future nobody can afford. the only thing getting elected is more misery, more repression, and more empty promises.

everyone knows the only thing transparent in russia is the ballot box they shove in your face

the regime’s dead soul

putin can claim its all open and honest, but the rest is just smoke, mirrors, and the stench of a regime thats been dead inside for years. the only suspense left is whether the next election will be any different, or if well just get another season of the same undead circus, with a fresh coat of propaganda and a new batch of conscripts to feed the grinder.

russian democracy: now with 100 percent more paperwork, zero percent plot, and a cast that forgot their lines decades ago.
