russia promised a three-day war, now its on day 1665 and still speedrunning the humiliation leaderboard. every week is a new low, every excuse is a rerun, and the only thing moving fast is the retreat.
fortress lyman, now with extra exits
remember when russian tv called lyman “fortress russia” and swore it would never fall? yeah, that fortress has more holes than their excuses. ukraine keeps grinding forward, and every time the z crowd claims “the front is stabilized,” the only thing stabilizing is the body count. russian milbloggers are now fighting over which “strategic withdrawal” is more strategic, like it matters. spoiler: its the one where you leave your ammo, your wounded, and your last shred of dignity behind. regrouping is just vatnik for “run faster, ivan.”
the denial in their telegram channels is thicker than the mud in donbas. every new line is “unbreakable” until its not, then its “all part of the plan.” the only plan is to see who can sprint east the fastest. at this point, even the maps are tired.
“he died bravely leading from the rear” is starting to sound like a punchline, not a eulogy.
donetsk miners: you cant eat patriotism
meanwhile, in donetsk, the miners finally snapped. turns out, you cant pay rent with “russian world” speeches or eat IOUs. when your mine is a draft office with coal dust, you start to notice the regime’s promises are as empty as your fridge. the protest isn’t just about money, its about not wanting to be cannon fodder for a war nobody signed up for.
the kremlin’s answer? send in riot cops and call it “foreign interference.” nothing says “people’s republic” like beating up the people you claim to liberate. if you’re not dying at the front, you’re starving at home. consistency is the only thing the regime delivers on time.
generals dropping faster than rubles
another week, another russian general rage-quits life. i lost count, but at this point, generals have a shorter life expectancy than a lada in a drone video. every time one of these guys clocks out, the propaganda machine spins up the “heroic sacrifice” playlist, but even the z bloggers are bored. they’re running out of medals and out of excuses.
the eulogies are getting lazier. “he died bravely leading from the rear” is now just code for “he got caught in the wrong group chat.” the only thing more dangerous than leading a russian unit is being promoted to general.
trump’s nuclear bedtime stories
trump’s out here doing his best RT audition, dropping “nukler” bedtime stories and calling it “n-rhetoric.” russian state tv eats it up, because nothing gets the kremlin harder than “the west is scared.” but putin’s nuclear threats are about as credible as a russian ceasefire. the only thing he’s detonating is his own credibility.
trump’s “peace plan” is just the same old “give putin what he wants and call it compromise” routine. even jared kushner tried to sell that line at a kyiv forum and got laughed out of the zoom call. when your “diplomatic breakthrough” is a meme in ukraine, maybe rethink the script.
background noise: crisis speedrun
while the circus plays on, the background is pure chaos:
- russian air defenses running out in taganrog
- gas shortages turning sochi into mad max
- kremlin “secret truce” rumors that last about as long as a wagner mutiny
- every week, a new “the west is to blame” rant
- another round of sanctions evasion ending with some oligarch’s yacht repo’d in monaco
the regime’s big plan? hope the world gets bored before the ruble does. spoiler: the ruble’s already bored.
economy in freefall, propaganda on loop
the russian economy’s in freefall, the only thing growing is the list of banned imports. “import substitution” means slapping a russian sticker on a chinese toaster and calling it innovation. the brain drain’s so bad, the only people left are too broke to leave or too brainwashed to notice.
state tv says everything’s fine, just ignore the empty shelves, the draft notices, and the fact your neighbor’s now a “volunteer” in zaporizhzhia. if you believe the news, you’re winning. if you look out the window, you’re next.
the real panic in moscow
so what’s left? ukraine’s still fighting, russia’s still lying, and the west is still arguing over how many red lines you can draw before you run out of crayons. the kremlin’s out of ideas, out of generals, and almost out of miners. all they’ve got left is propaganda, nuclear bluffing, and the hope someone, anyone, will buy their bullshit.
nobody’s buying. not even the donetsk miners. and that’s the real panic in moscow.
russian victory speeches are now just weather reports with more excuses. every empire dies the same way, but this one’s live-streamed and subtitled for your convenience.
