putins megacauldron plan was supposed to be the next big thing, like a marvel crossover but with more rust and less plot. instead of a win, all he got was a bunch of conscripts lost in a field and a general who thinks gps is black magic. ukraine snapped those claws off and served them back with a side of humiliation.
the kitchen utensil war
every few months, putin drops a new “grand plan” on kremlin tv, usually named after whatever kitchen tool he remembers from the bunker. this time it was the 50-kilometer “megacauldron” near sumy, where russian troops would supposedly surround and crush ukrainian defenders. spoiler: the only thing getting crushed was the morale of the poor sap who had to explain to putin why the map keeps moving the wrong way.
kremlin tv hyped it like the second coming, but the only miracle was how fast the plan fell apart. the vatniks got another round of “almost took that village, honest,” while the front line kept doing cardio in reverse.
numbers dont lie, but putin does
lets talk numbers, because even putin cant keep his own story straight. in june, he bragged russian troops were 9.5 km from sumy’s ring road, “moving decisively.” two months later, its 12 km. by september, he’s telling the shanghai summit its 19 km. thats not an advance, thats a speedrun to vladivostok.
if your army is advancing backwards, maybe dont brag about it on live tv. at this rate, the only thing theyll encircle is their own supply lines, and maybe a few more washing machines for the trip home.
delusion at the top
heres the wild part: putin actually believes his own hype. this isnt just propaganda for the masses, its a full-blown delusion at the top. hes not even pretending to listen to his generals, just calling them up for a quick pep talk before going out to tell the world how great things are going.
“objective picture,” he says, while the only thing objective is the body count and the number of looted appliances per square kilometer. the regime is so deep in its own echo chamber, theyre basically playing telephone with a brick.
ukraine flips the script
while russia is busy drawing cauldrons on the map, ukraine is out here launching drone strikes on iranian ships in the caspian, closing the sky over moscow, and making the kremlin look like a retirement home that lost the tv remote. every time russia tries to tighten the noose, ukraine just snaps it and hands it back.
the only “cauldron” boiling is on russian telegram, full of z bloggers crying about why the miracle encirclement keeps turning into another retreat. ukraine isnt waiting to get boiled, theyre flipping the whole kitchen.
the great russian social experiment
putin’s running a live-action psychology test on his own people, seeing how much bullshit theyll swallow before they choke. every week its a new promise:
- crimea is safe
- the front is moving
- the west is collapsing
- sanctions are a joke
meanwhile, the ruble’s in freefall, the best and brightest are sprinting to kazakhstan, and the only thing growing is the list of banned imports and dead-end mobilization drives. the only thing putin’s managed to encircle is his own regime, trapped in a feedback loop of lies and cope.
at this point, the only thing hes cooking is his own goose, and even thats probably undercooked.
so yeah, ukraine tore those claws off and left the “megacauldron” looking like a kiddie pool. putin can keep drawing lines on the map and calling it progress, but the only thing getting surrounded is his credibility. the second army of the world, now with 100 percent more reverse gear.
