Day 1683 and Putin’s still speedrunning the humiliation any percent category.

putin’s been speedrunning the humiliation any percent for 1683 days straight and the splits just keep getting uglier. four and a half years in and the kremlin still thinks if they rerun the same clown script enough times, maybe this time ukraine will just roll over. spoiler: the only thing rolling is another burning tank and the only thing advancing is the price of bread. welcome back to “how not to run an empire,” starring the world’s saddest strongman and his army of bootlickers.

the shame of putin: reruns and reroutes

putin’s got more L’s than the moscow metro and the propaganda machine is running so hot it might actually catch fire before the next tank does. every disaster gets spun as “strategic regrouping,” but even the babushkas are side-eyeing the tv now. the front line? not moving. ukraine’s pushing back, and every time a z blogger yells “counteroffensive failed,” there’s a fresh video of a russian tank doing its best barbecue impression. the kremlin’s master plan is to just outlast reality, but reality doesn’t take bribes and it’s got better pacing.

the regime’s only real export is cope. every week it’s a new excuse, a new “victory,” a new way to explain why the special operation is still stuck in the mud. the only thing getting denazified is the russian population’s bank accounts. every refinery that goes up in smoke is “planned maintenance,” every city hit is “terrorism,” every russian scammed into the army is “patriotism.” they’re not even good at lying anymore, just loud.

the only thing moving faster than baltic oil tankers is the kremlin’s ability to scam its own people into dying for a washing machine.

conscript catfishing: jobs to graves pipeline

the russian army’s idea of “replenishing manpower” is basically catfishing its own citizens. take valery from krasnodar krai, 59, just looking for a job. he answers an ad for factory work in annexed crimea, gets a ticket, and next thing he knows, he’s not clocking in at a plant, he’s getting a crash course in “how to be cannon fodder.” this isn’t a one-off. the regime’s been running this scam on everyone from students to retirees.

the only thing more inflated than the casualty numbers is the list of job scams. front line “support” jobs are just a new way to fill body bags. kid signs up to be a cook, ends up as a corpse. guy wants to fix trucks, gets handed a rifle and a map. the pitch is “come for the job, stay for the funeral.” try to bail and you get threatened, blackmailed, or just straight up disappeared. the only thing more dangerous than a ukrainian drone is a russian recruiter with a clipboard.

drone season: sticks, stones, and smoking depots

ukraine’s tech game is making the russian army look like they’re fighting with sticks and rocks. every week, another refinery, supply depot, or random airfield deep in russia gets lit up. the hits are getting more precise, the range is getting longer, and the excuses are getting dumber. “it was a cigarette!” “it was sabotage!” “it was nato!” bro, it was a drone, and it’s not stopping.

the only thing the russian air defense is intercepting is their own propaganda. every drone hit is one less moscovian rifle pointed at a ukrainian, and the trend is moving our way fast. the kremlin can’t even keep the home front safe, let alone the occupied territories. the only thing more consistent than russian war crimes is the regime’s allergy to accountability.

baltic oil traffic jam: import constipation

putin’s “maritime masterclass” is a 60-kilometer queue of tankers and freighters stuck in the gulf of finland. over 150 ships, 65 of them tankers, all waiting because the regime can’t manage basic logistics. it’s like the world’s saddest game of battleship, except everyone’s losing money and the only thing sinking is the russian economy.

import substitution? more like import constipation. the kremlin keeps bragging about “turning to the east,” but all they’ve done is turn a shipping lane into a parking lot. back home, the “energy superpower” can’t even keep its own gas stations running. in kostroma, people are lining up for hours, fighting over five liters of gas, paying 100 rubles a liter just to fill up. one guy’s so desperate he’s standing in line on foot with a bag, hoping to score a few drops. the only thing more expensive than gas is the lie that russia’s economy is “resilient.”

humanitarian blockades and war crimes on repeat

while all this is going on, the regime’s still blocking humanitarian evacuations from places like oleshky. ukraine’s ready to get people out, even offering to bring in the red cross, but russia’s answer is always “nyet.” can’t have the world seeing the mess they made, right? better to let civilians rot than admit the “liberators” turned their towns into rubble.

the only thing more consistent than russian war crimes is the kremlin’s allergy to accountability. every time the world asks for access, the answer is a hard no. the regime would rather let people die than let anyone see the scale of their failure. it’s not liberation, it’s demolition with extra steps.

propaganda olympics: z bloggers and cope collectors

the propaganda’s still running strong, at least if you’re watching state tv. every day it’s victory parades, nato boogeymen, and promises that “next week” the special operation will be over. meanwhile, the only thing getting denazified is the russian population’s savings. the regime’s biggest export isn’t oil or gas, it’s excuses.

z bloggers are the hype men for a regime that’s running out of both hype and men. they treat every ukrainian advance like a minor inconvenience and every russian retreat like a “tactical maneuver.” post a video of a burning tank, call it “evidence of ukrainian desperation.” show a line of prisoners, claim it’s “fake news.” at this point, their job is less about reporting and more about coping. i collect their takes like pokémon cards, except every one is a magikarp.

the cherry on top? the regime’s own officials are starting to admit they might be at this until 2030. the “three-day operation” is now a decade-long money pit. russian mps are out here talking about “long-term conflict,” like anyone’s buying it. the only thing long-term about this war is the list of failures.

the punchline: empire of cope

here’s the real punchline: while russia’s busy turning itself into a meme, ukraine’s building drones, launching counteroffensives, and getting stronger. every time the kremlin tries to flex, it ends up pulling a muscle. every time they try to scare the world with nuclear blackmail, the only thing that gets nuked is their own credibility. the scariest weapon in the russian arsenal is still the smell.

so yeah, day 1683, and nothing’s changed except the body count and the size of the oil spill in the baltic. putin’s still hiding behind a wall of yes-men, the army’s still losing to a country they said would fold in a week, and the propaganda’s still trying to convince everyone that up is down and losing is winning. the only people buying it are the ones too broke to leave and too scared to speak up.

in the end, the regime’s biggest achievement is convincing its own people that poverty is patriotism and dying for a dictator is a career move. the rest of us just watch, screenshot, and roast. because if you can’t laugh at the world’s dumbest empire, what’s even the point?

russian victory is always just one more funeral away, and the only thing they’re liberating is your wallet.
